Continued Help Needed in Kerrville
Rev. Libby Janes, Director
Synod Partnership for Disaster Recovery
Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church held a weekend-long mission trip in Kerrville, working through the partnership Mo-Ranch (Lisa Winters lwinters@moranch.com) has with the volunteer coordinator at Global Empowerment Mission (Stephanie Hodges shodges@gem.org).
They had a wonderful experience, and Rev. Stephen wrote about their experience in this facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1KkvUa6VSk/). Please be encouraged to share about their church's experience and encourage other churches to do the same! Stephen told me they had a group of only about 5 people, but that the need is great and the experience doing this work was deeply meaningful to their group. Please share and encourage other churches to do the same.

There is an urgent need for 100 volunteers very soon - September 24-26 - to build a playground in Kerrville. They asked Westlake Hills while they visited to help find volunteers to help recruit 25 volunteers to make their goal of 100 volunteers, so Stephen asked me to share this request.
The program is called Kaboom -- yes, just like the Parks & Rec episode! They're real! Please consider using your platforms to share Stephen's invitation to join volunteers from Westlake Hills who will return to Kerrville on Sept 24-26 to support this project.
