In March 2025, Oklahoma experienced a severe wildfire outbreak fueled by historic, non-thunderstorm winds, leading to evacuations, power outages, and a state declaration of emergency for 12 counties.
Leaders from Cimarron Presbytery and the First United Presbyterian Church in Guthrie are galvanizing efforts to care for residents in two of the impacted counties: Payne and Logan counties. Below is a letter shared by Cimarron Presbytery:
During the week of March 14–21, wildfires impacted both Payne and Logan counties. Current estimates indicate that 173 homes were lost in Payne County and 114 in Logan County. Many families, including some without homeowners insurance, have lost everything. Cleanup efforts are underway, and the affected communities are beginning the long process of rebuilding their lives.
If you or members of your congregation would like to contribute to relief efforts You may send checks designated for Disaster Response to:

Almighty God, help us to be Your hands and feet in this time of loss and recovery for the families in our community. Open our hearts and ears to listen to the needs of all who have been impacted by these wildfires. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Grace and peace,
Cimarron Presbytery
